Hammer curls are an isolation exercise targeting the brachialis and brachioradialis, contributing to overall arm thickness and grip strength. Stand tall with a dumbbell in each hand, palms facing each other in a neutral grip. Keeping your elbows tucked close to your sides, curl the dumbbells upwards towards your shoulders, squeezing at the top. Control the movement as you slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position, maintaining tension throughout.
Skip or adapt this movement if any of these apply — and check with a professional when in doubt.
