The Split Squat is a unilateral lower body exercise that builds strength, balance, and hip mobility. Start in a staggered stance with one foot forward and the other back, maintaining an upright torso. Lower your hips straight down until your front thigh is parallel to the floor and your back knee hovers just above it. Drive through the heel of your front foot to return to the starting position, focusing on controlled movement.
Skip or adapt this movement if any of these apply — and check with a professional when in doubt.
