The Cable Crunch is an isolation exercise targeting the abdominal muscles. To set up, kneel facing a cable machine with a rope attachment set to a high pulley. Grasp the rope handles and position them behind your head or neck. Initiate the movement by flexing your spine, crunching your torso downwards, bringing your elbows towards your hips while keeping your hips relatively stable. Focus on a strong contraction of your abdominal muscles at the bottom of the movement, then slowly return to the starting position under control.
Skip or adapt this movement if any of these apply — and check with a professional when in doubt.
