The Triceps Pushdown is an isolation exercise targeting the triceps brachii. To set up, stand facing a cable machine with a rope or straight bar attachment set to a high pulley. Grasp the attachment with an overhand grip, tuck your elbows close to your sides, and lean slightly forward from the hips. Initiate the movement by extending your elbows, pushing the attachment down until your arms are fully extended, squeezing your triceps. Control the weight as you slowly return to the starting position, allowing your triceps to stretch.
Skip or adapt this movement if any of these apply — and check with a professional when in doubt.
